Post Apocalypse – A Poem Based on Sikh Principles

This poem set in the post-apocalyptic world has been written from a Sikh perspective based on the teachings of Sikh Gurus.

Bodies are dead, souls are free,
searching for form, they start to flee.



Bodies they had were the way to God,
they missed the opportunity, in agreement they nod.



The life on Earth has now been swept,
everything alive is now slept.



To seek redemption a body they must find,
on a new planet of Earth’s kind.



Infinite Universes, the search is long,
they know they suffer for they have done wrong.



Their desires in life did not let them die,
Searching and searching they continue to fly.



For the union of soul with body and mind,
a planet like Earth they must find.



They kept on moving and did not stop,
finding life was their only hope.



It took like forever but they did find light,
they will be born again, they thanked Almight.



While some continue to wait in vain,
few took birth and are children again.



Day by day slowly they grow,
seeds of lust they started to sow.



Completely corrupt, they forgot their mission,
Birth and death, to end this tradition.



They are dying again and taking birth,
Forgot what happened on planet Earth.



Bodies will be dead, souls will be free,
waiting for apocalypse, ready to flee.
